I tried to do a vlookup functin in a workbook ,the source for lookup is in
another workbook(both open).when I type =vlookup(a6, and then went for the other workbooks to designate the source range I do not find the part formla in the formula bar and consequently ignoring this if I go about the formla the formula does not work. What could be the reason for such behaviour of the other workbook. Has the other workbook corrupted? thanks |

Is there a chance that somebody changed the number/list settings from
the control panel? Will it work if you try =vlookup(a6; i.e. semicolon instead of comma? Kostis Vezerides |

no. in other cases vlookup with comma works. but in one or two particular
files this behaviour occurs. that is why I suspect that the file is corrupted. Somewhere in this newsgroup I saw solutin to recover corrupted file. shall look into it. thanks "vezerid" wrote in message oups.com...
