Default 'Unprotect' dialog box appears on every click

Whenever I open a workbook that has Protected sheets I experience an error.
Every cell that I click on (Protected or not) opens the 'Unprotect Sheet'
dialog box. I must click cancel twice to close it out and enter a value in
the cell (if it is an Unprotected cell). Obviously this can get pretty
tedious if I need to enter a number of values.

Has anyone seen this type of error before and do you have ideas how to
resolve it?

Thanks
