Default Sorting By Date

Hello, I know this question has been asked many times before but the
answers given are a little hard to grasp.

I'm trying to sort an excel file by date and some of the colums are
merged.
For example the date and time is merged. Can anyone please explain an
easy way to do this?

Ex: 21/12/2005 21:21:10

Any advice must gratefully recieved.

P.S - It's not for me.

:)

Default Sorting By Date

It doesn't matter for sorting:
2/13/2006
is really
38761

and
2/13/2006 5:10
is really
38761.2154

The time is just the decimal (fractional) part of the date number.
