![]() I have several large spreadsheets linked to other large spreadsheets. I looked in Help and found "Change the way a linked object is updated On the Edit menu, click Links. The Links command is unavailable if your file does not contain linked information. In the Source file list, click the linked object you want to update. To select multiple linked objects, hold down CTRL and click each linked object. To update a linked object every time you open the file that contains the object or any time the original information changes while the file is open, click Automatic. To update a linked object only when you click Update Now, click Manual. " I do not want them to automatically update when I open them. However, the option to only update manually is not available to me. The manual radio button is grayed out. When I open the spreadsheets, I am asked whether to update remote links and always click No, but they update anyway. How can I stop this activity as these large spreadsheets seem to tie up almost all of my system resources during this refresh cycle. -- DCSwearingen ------------------------------------------------------------------------ DCSwearingen's Profile: http://www.excelforum.com/member.php...o&userid=21506 View this thread: http://www.excelforum.com/showthread...hreadid=504633 |
