Default formulas w/ ref cells are no longer colorcoded or color outlined

Normally when you doubleclick a cell with formulas referenced cell names or
range names are given different colors while the actual sells or ranges are
color outlined. Something has happened and now my excel is no longer giving
these cell names colors and just highlighting the cells and ranges. How do I
fix this. This is extremely annoying I never realized how much I use the
colors & outlines. any help would be appreciated

Thanks

Default formulas w/ ref cells are no longer colorcoded or color outlined

If I double click the cell to edit it and look at the cell, the cell
references in formulas are colour codes
If I look at the formula in the Formula Bar there are no colours
However, when I click in the Formula Bar (I am so old that I edit there by
default since in the early days that was the only place you could) then the
colours "move" from the cell to the formula bar

Any help?
