Default I closed Excel by mistake can I recover the autosave?

Closed Excel 2000 without thinking and lost current update to spread sheet
and said no I did not want to save on closing. Is there anyway of openning
the autosave? Help please

Autosave (if you had it turned on) actually saved that file at whatever time
increments you set.

So maybe you only lost the last xx minutes???

But if you didn't have that turned on and you didn't save, you're out of luck.

I have encountered the same pb on word: even with autosave turned on when you
say no by mistake to save file on close, the autosaved file is not
accessible. Or is it? And if yes, where can it be found? Help please!

If last autosaved file is not accessible, please Microsoft address this pb!
Error is human. We are overwhelmed by dialog boxes that ask us to confirm
actions that are reversible, and by temp files that are never automatically
deleted. The minimum users could enjoy on paid, work software, is to benefit
from reversibility and temp files when most crucially needed...
