Default Excel Autoshape tool box

I used the excel autoshape toolbar for the first time.
The tool bar appears on the bottom of screen and it also appears on the
actual spreadsheet. It is a nuisance trying to work in excel and having this
toolbox to work around.
The other problem is that it won't let me customise my toolbars any more.
I am stuck with what I have now.
I uninstalled excel and loaded it back on, but it hasn't fixed the problem.
