Custom Format for Numbers
Custom formatting does work, but the trick is that you have to escape the
commas with a leading \. So, instead of ##,###,##0 you use ##\,###\,##0 You also have to stop Excel defaults in for any numbers, so test for greater 100,000 and greater than 10,000,000 like so [=100000]##\,##\,##0.00 In its final form, allowing [=10000000]##\,##\,##\,##0.00;[=100000]##\,##\,##0.00;##,##0.00 -- HTH Bob Phillips (remove nothere from email address if mailing direct) "Dr. Sachin Wagh" wrote in message ... correction... by default expected as 1,000 1 Thousand 1,000 100,000 1 Lakh (100 Thousand) 1,00,000 10,000,000 1 Crore (100 Lakh) 1,00,00,000 -- Dr. Sachin Wagh MBBS, DHA, DPH "Dr. Sachin Wagh" wrote: We have a system of Calculating Money in Lakhs & Crores, unlike Millions & Billions.
