Default Excel Autoshape tool bar

I used the excel autoshape toolbar for the first time.
Now the drop down toolbox always appears in excel spreadsheets.
I can't get rid of it.
In "View" "Toolbars" the only option I get is Customise, but it won't let me
add or delete or modify my toolbars any more.
Please help

On the left edge of the toolbar (assuming it's on the top or bottom of
the screen) you'll see a column of tiny hash marks. Position your
mouse over it, and the mouse cursor will change to a 4-way arrow. Click
on the toolbar and drag it into the middle of the screen. Then, a
standard X will be in the upper-right corner that will let you close
it.
