Default Cut and paste or Copy just cell contents?

I want to be able to cut and paste or move just the cell contents without
moving or erasing the cell lines and colors. I have a worksheet that from
time to time a whole row of data is deleted and I would like to then move
the rest of the data up but then the cell borders and colors move and leave
behind dlanks that need to be reformatted. Thanks

After you copy a cell to the clipboard, move the pointer to an open
cell and right-click. Choose Paste Special and select Values only.
This will paste the value only with no formatting. Note the other
Paste Special options- they may be useful for you too, either now or
later.
