Default how do I paste links and keep formats

when I copy using the paste links function I lose the format. How do I paste
links and keep the format?

You've got to do it *twice*.

Paste Special - click "Links",
Right click again - Paste Special - click "Formats".

Just to add, if you change the "sending" cell's format, the "receiving" cell's
format won't change.
