Toolsaccountsaddnews, your name, email (most use a bogus email to protect
from spammers), then in step 3 under servers use

msnews.microsoft.com

then finish

when you close it will download the different newsgroups and there you can
select the excel groups you want to subscribe to. Most people that I know
who have used newsgroups for a long time dislike OE since it is (albeit easy
to use) rather limited as a newsreader

You've got my curiosity up now Peo.

Since I've always used O.E., I probably haven't realized what I've been
missing by not using another reader.

Would you mind giving some examples of some of the shortcoming of O.E. ...
OR ... some of the advantages of some of the other readers.

I do see that you use it though ! ! !

TIA,

I believe some of the shortcomings are offline newsreaders, more for
people who are using dialup perhaps, how it treats binaries, how
the text editing is (I believe many OE users have discovered what they
thought they posted didn't really look like that when they read their
own post) I am sure other people who are using other newsreaders
can tell you more

One time or another I was told all I had to do was enter a web address in my
I.E. and it automatcally inserted the newsgroup to my outlook. Have you heard
about this before?

Also, how about:

news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.excel

The important thing is now to properly set-up your OE so that you can find
your own posts and/or responses to them.

So many posts are repeated here, simply because the OP could not find his or
her original.
After a day or two, that post might be 100 or 200 messages "down the line".

Post back if you might need some assistance with this.
