Default Removing the "broom" that pops-up in Excel

Tools|options|Edit tab
uncheck show paste option buttons
(and anything else you want disabled)

Does anyone know how to resolve this issue? The broom appears after I
copy/paste a row. The broom allows me to change formatting, but it gets in
my way and I can't see the cells beneath it.
Frustrating!
