Default MOS Core exam

Has anyone had this experience? I know for a fact that I answered everything
correct on the Excel exam yet only got 900. A few folks in the office had the
same experience.

Just curious,

Suzan

How do you know you answered everything correctly, when I took it I thought
obviously that I did but I did not and I accepted that I intepreted some
questions differently? Besides it is of no use really, no real excel skills
are tested, just run of the mill. It might look nice on a resume but frankly
an exam which you can basically look up answers before hand is not worth
much to me (one can buy books just to prepare)

I know I answered them all correctly. I can't say the same for the Word test,
taken the same day. I got 873 on that one and thought I should have gotten
lower.

As for the value, it is REQUIRED for my job that I pass all the exams for
Word, PPT, Excel, and Outlook. Also, I was MOUS certified for 2000 Word,
Excel, and PPT and had it on my resume. It was one of the reasons I got my
current position.

I guess it depends on what you do, where you live, etc.

Suzan

No you did not answered them correctly, if you did you would have scored
100% . What I meant was that to me "specialist" means somebody very skilled
at what they are doing (although it obviously has been watered down in the
US where everyone's a specialist A/P Specialist, A/R Specialist etc) however
the knowledge for a core MOS exam does not fit that criteria, it's no really
tricky excel questions in the exam like complicated formulas or VBA
