Default datetime format issues when linking access to excel

Does anyone had problems with datetime issues when trying to link access into
excel? using the database query option, it gives me an error of
[microsoft][ODBC Microsoft access driver]invalid datetime format on column
number 1 (date/time), and will not import the data.
