what does compute mean in terms of Excel? Ive been provided with information on excel and have been told to 'compute gnp per capita (measured as $ per capita). i have no idea what im being asked to do...it seems almost foreign. any help/guidance would be greatly appreciated.

I would guess that it just means work it out, but using Excel that would
mean create a formula.

If you know the GNP, put that in a cell, say A1, If you know the number of
people, put that in a cell say B1. The GNP per capita is then
=A1/B1
that is divide the GNP by the number of people.
