Why do macros show up while opening document, but were deleted?
Every time I open workbooks that were created when I had macros in the
personal sheet, Excel states there are macros in the sheet, even though none show up. (I deleted macros that were not needed in some spreadsheets.) It is not a big deal, but rather just an annoyance, and the sheets are good to use. I have copied the contents of many to another new workbook already, and that gets rid of it, but where would Excel be getting this info if all the macros are deleted? |

Delete the modules as well as the macros.

When you record a macro, Excel creates a module in which the code is
stored. When you delete the macro, the module is not automatically deleted. There are instructions here for finding and removing code: http://www.contextures.com/xlfaqMac.html#NoMacros Ralph Orth wrote: Every time I open workbooks that were created when I had macros in the personal sheet, Excel states there are macros in the sheet, even though none show up. The Web page helped me understand some other things too. Very helpful, but I
have a lot to learn about macros. Thanks for your help. "Debra Dalgleish" wrote: When you record a macro, Excel creates a module in which the code is stored. Why do macros show up while opening document, but were deleted?
My Excel document has a macro that I did not intend - it happened
accidentally while trying to "learn" about macros. How do I find it so I can delete it? I've read the messages delete the macro & then also delete the module. Before I do that I have to FIND it.
