Copying and 'unlinking' a chart
Is there a way of copyiong a chart from one workbook to another and
'unlinking' it, such that it does not update from the original worksheet if the original data is changed. Does it need to be copied as a picture or similar?? Thanks in advance. |

I think if you copy that chart normally, but paste as a picture, you'll be set.
select the chart edit|copy go to the other location Shift-Edit|Paste picture rmellison wrote: Is there a way of copyiong a chart from one workbook to another and 'unlinking' it, such that it does not update from the original worksheet if the original data is changed. Copying and 'unlinking' a chart
Thanks Dave. I had posted the same question in Excel Charts newsgroup and the
suggestion had already been put forward. It works, but unfortunately once copied as a pic you can't edit as an excel chart (axis and font size etc). Currently trying to adapt a macro from Jon Peltier's site (link below for anyone interested) to work for my scenario. It delinks the data from the worksheet whilst keeping the chart as an excel object. http://peltiertech.com/Excel/ChartsH...ChartData.html Thanks again "Dave Peterson" wrote: I think if you copy that chart normally, but paste as a picture, you'll be set. select the chart edit|copy go to the other location Shift-Edit|Paste picture rmellison wrote: Is there a way of copyiong a chart from one workbook to another and 'unlinking' it, such that it does not update from the original worksheet if the original data is changed.
