Either format the cells as text before you begin (right click the range you
want to enter the data in Format Cells Number Select 'Text1') or precede each entry with an apostrophe ('). It will show in the formula bar but not in the cell, Regards, Alan. wrote in message oups.com... I'm a new Excel user, using XP office excel. Well, I am trying to enter some text in the cells. Andormeda Galaxy is of type G - Sb. When I enter G- Sb, excel thinks it is some formula. The same thing with the coordinates like latitude and longitude numbers. How can I enter the data AS IS: and NOT AS A FORMULA. Thanks Shanks |
