Default Auto-adjust cell height to accommodate contained text.

Some cells contain text that is concatenated from several cell references.
How do I automatically adjust the cell height to accommodate the resulting
content?

Select all (ALT+A) and double click on the boundary between 2 rows.

This will autoadjust all rows to appropriate height.

After that, it should autoadjust after each change made.

I tried this (with Ctrl+A) and it did not work. Thanks anyway.

By "automatically adjust row height"...do you mean that you want the text to
wrap so instead of making the column size bigger you make it use more row
space?
If so, turn on text wrapping.

Highlight affected cells (or all of them if you wish) and right click and go
to format cells. On the Alignment tab, click the checkbox for wrap text.
Any text that goes farther than the column width will bump to the next line,
expanding the row.

Yes, I want to add cell height to accommodate variable text length. Again
thanks but this suggestion did not affect the text at all. Rows remained
either too large (vertically) or too small. I suspect that at least my
version of Excel (Basic 2003) is incapable of automatically adjiusting row
height in merged cells - it has to be done manually cell by cell. Thanks to
all who replied.
