Default Sharework book problems

Hi again,

My team of 30 regularly uses a Excel spreadsheet in which they all have
shared access, however, nearly everyday the file displays an error
message:

'File is locked'

Is there anyway i can prevent this from happening, or is it just a case
of the persistant access by all users that causes this error message?

When this error message occurs, the team all have to come out of the
file completely and go back in again...

Your help is appreciated, thanks!

GG :)
