Default match a name and return a tel number?

I am trying to match a list of names to return a number.
I have tried an IF but I can't nest more than 7
I have tried lookup but it is not anexact match
Match is no good as it gives a relative position
What is the right function/formula for this?
Thanks

I think Index/Match did the job. Thanks Al
