Default How do I disable the MDI interface in Excel?

This has been a constant annoyance of mine for awhile. How do I for once and
for all entirely disable the MDI in Excel? For instance, when I click on an
Excel file on my desktop, I want it to launch a new instance of Excel, and
not to launch it as a child window within the already-open spreadsheet.
