Default some view settings could not be applied

In my spreadsheet I have created some custom views in which certain
columns are hidden. Switching between views works OK until I protect
the worksheet. Once protection has been applied however, I start to run
into problems. If I attempt to switch views, I receive the Microsoft
Excel error message: "Some view settings could not be applied". The
hidden columns remain hidden, even though the view was saved with these
columns being displayed.

A further problem I am having is that with buttons on my spreadsheet
that I have assigned to macros. If I resize the buttons in one view
(and save the view), then they completely change size in the other
custom views. Is there a way that I can get aroound this?

Many thanks in anticipation to anybody out there who can help.
