Default copy a formatted cell to another sheet as text without format

I have a formatted sheet with an end result in a formatted cell. I want to
take that column and copy it to another sheet but minus the format since I
get the "value" error. How can I just get the numbers as numbers?

What does the format have to do with the "value" error? Do you mean a
formulated result? I take it you are trying to paste the result of a formula
into an empty cell? In that case simply copy the cell with the formula and
right click where you want to paste, and then select paste special. Select
values and hit ok. This will paste the result of the formula. It might be
better to just input a formula like this...

=Sheet1!A1

This would be if the cell with the formula was in cell A1 of sheet1. That
way if the cell changes, then so will this one. Hope this helps.

Thank you...I was able to copy from one file to another by using that values
radio button. I didn't want to lose the integrity of the original file, but
I needed just the column results in the other. You have been very helpful

Format will not cause a #VALUE! error.

You can use Edit/Paste Special, selecting the Values radio button, to
paste just the value, but I don't think that will solve your problem.
What formula are you using that you get a #VALUE! error, and what value
are you pasting in?

Thank you for your help. What happened when I copied the column from one
file to another file was the "value" error popped up and I didn't know how to
have it copy just the number...now I've learned about the pasting option of
value only. I thank you very much.
