Cant make connection to save stuff to CD Drive!!??

Cant make connection to save stuff to CD Drive!!??

If anyone can help with this I would be very grateful. When I
right-click an icon on desktop (ms word / notepad item) and 'send to'
.... the option to send it to CD Drive isnt an option! .... options are
to floppy,desktop shortcut, zipped...etc ........I'm usually able to
save my stuff to disk but cant now.
