Greetings all. First poster here.

I'm working on making some changes to a rather elaborate Excel
spreadsheet that was developed by a predecessor.

One of the changes I have been asked to make involves a cell where
input is restricted by values contained in a list. I was asked if the
cell's value can be set by a conditional statement while still
retaining the cell validation. The value to be selected based on the
condition is in the list used for data validation. I've tried
inputting the conditional statement but get an error stating that "The
value you entered is not valid".

Any advice would be appreciated.
