I am typing last four digits of social in cells and ones that begin with
zero, will not hold the zero. How do if fix this? thanks Vickie Newto |

Format the cell as Custom and under the "Type" section type 0000.

Format the cells as "Text".... Format-Cells-Click on "Text"

Give the cell(s) a custom format of 0000.
Format the cells as text, then type your entry. Start your entry with a leading apostrophe: '0012 The first one will keep the value numeric. The bottom two will treat your value as text. ![]() Hi! Format the cell as text before you fill it. Use Format Cells...NumberText. It won't be a number anymore, but I can't imagine you want to calculate using it...
