Default Open Excel App without a blank worksheet opening

Need to open Excel, but without a new workbook opening with it? Would like to
just have the excel toolbar at top and no worksheet or workbook visable?
Ideas?

Thanks,
Chris

Create a new shortcut to excel.exe
But add /e (spacebar slash e) to the end of the target.

excel.exe /e

If you look in xl's help for "Customize how Excel starts", you'll see more info.
