Default Workbook Connection(s) failing to refresh in copy of working spreadsheet

Hello all,

In an Excel 2010 *.xlsb I have a number of Workbook connections set up that pull data in from an Access db and populate a number of pivot tables. They work fine in one workbook. However once I make a copy of this workbook, without any change, the same connections fail to refresh in the copied workbook and, in a few instances, actually have the "Remove" and "Properties" buttons greyed out!! I don't know why simply copying a workbook would have such a dramatic effect on workbook connections available via the Data tab in the ribbon.
