if you are using excel 2007, do this.

file -save as- and find so many options there. see at the bottom-PREPARE-
CLICK THERE-and find encrypte- click on it and give your password -again give the password to confirm. that's all about it. next time if you want to open that file it will ask the password. happy learning.
