Not enough memory for large workbooks

In my job, we have large workbooks containing many tabs and many
formulas. We are having a problem with these large workbooks and we
get an error message of "NOT ENOUGH MEMORY" when we try to open and/or
save these large workbooks. Is here an easy fix to this problem?
Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks!

Adding more memory is pretty cheap and easy these days. How much is
installed in the machines now?

Thanks Bill.

I have 524k now. The problem is the error could occur during a
deadline and I don't have time to go add more then. How do you know
when you have enough?

Hopefully someone else will chime in here. I've never run into your
problem in a machine with that much RAM. Here is a link to some old
information on memory limitations in Excel though:

This also has some info on optimizing memory usage:

Sorry I can't help.

Bill
