Default importing accounting data am limited to 16384 line - why?

I am trying to import stock data from an accounting system and although there
are more than 16000 lines, I am always limited to 16384 lines which is well
below the geberal sheet limitation of 64000 lines. Why is that; can I get
around the problem easily?

Just a guess - is the accounting system a little on the old side? I seem to
recall that one of the older Excel versions had row limit of 16,000+, so
maybe it's the accounting system's export that is the culprit, by limiting
the data it exports to 16384 rows

Thank you for your trouble; you're probably right. My colleague tells me he
has just managed to do it by using Foxpro (the program in which the accounts
package -Opera II is written), to export the data to Access and from there to
Excel.
