Default Excel is written in which programming language ?

Is the programming language used by MS for Excel sturdy to handle very large
volume of data ?

Depends on what you mean by very large volumes. If you are talking tens of
thousands, or hundreds of thousands, it might be able to handle it, but is
that the best way? Often a database is better to store the data and extract
summary info into Excel for analysis etc.
