Default excel - insert cell contents in a custom header / footer

office excel 2003
I wish to be able to insert the contents of a particular cell on the
worksheet in a custom footer
eg using the Page Setup - Footer dialog box: "&[cell reference eg A1] -
&[Tab] : page &[Page] of &[Pages]"
I am amazed that this is currently not possible
