is there a formula that will have an exact $ amount be deducted from any
given total.

Not sure if there is enough info here - obviously you could just add a
-100 to deduct 100 from every total. If the 100 could change, you can
use a linked cell or named range. If you just want to do this once you
can type the value to be subtracted, copy it, and Paste Special / Value
/ Subtract. Not sure if this covers what you need come back with some

ok!
Each month there is a total (different each month ending). whatever that
total is, I will like to deduct a set $ mount (lets say $100.) from the that
month ending total and place it in a spicific cell.
