I have a spreadsheet with the following function:-

BB!G1

What does it do please?

It gets the value of cell G1 in worksheet BB.

Hi

Maybe
=BB!G1

When yes, then it isn't a function, it is a cell reference - a value from
cell G1 on sheet BB is returned.

It refers to Cell G1 on Sheet BB

That's what I thought, but there isn't a sheet BB.

Are you sure there isn't a hidden sheet? If there was no sheet, that cell
would return a value of #REF
