Why does "ACN" entered into Excel 2000 change to "CAN"? Is this an
undiscovered bug? Please respond to

Look at ToolsAutocorrect options and remove ACN

It is not a bug. It is due to Excel AutoCorrect function, which
fixes typos as you type them. You can remove the "ACN" entry in
the substitution table. Go to the Tools menu, choose AutoCorrect
Options, and then scroll down the list to ACN and click the
Delete button.
