How to have fx in formula bar instead of =
I have one version of excel that has an fx (function) button in the
formula bar. When I put a function into the formula bar, the required inputs are listed for me in a drop down reminder. I have another machine that doesn't do this. How do i turn this on? thanks, Geoff |

This was a feature (Function Tool tips) added to Excel XP. It's not available in versions before this -- HTH Nick Hodge Microsoft MVP - Excel Southampton, England HIS "Geoff" wrote in message oups.com... after you type your function:
=mid( try hitting ctrl-shift-a (ctrl-uppercase A) ctrl-a (lower case) may also help. Geoff wrote: I have one version of excel that has an fx (function) button in the formula bar.
