Default Excel Toolbars

I am using Excel 97. When I create my own toolbar it appears for a number of
days or weeks, then all of a sudden it disappears for good and I have to
re-create it again. Why does this happen? How can I make my toolbar a
permanent feature?

Thanks,

Duncan
