Default macro

Whenever I try to record a macro and put it in my personal macro workbook, I
get a message that says personal macro workbook in startup must stay open for
recording. What does this mean and what can I do to updo it. Thanks,

Not sure if that's what you need or not.

Are you using xl2002+?

If yes, then maybe you're personal.xls workbook has been disabled--so excel
thinks it's bad and won't open it.

Open excel
Help|About MS Excel|Disabled items

If you see personal.xls on that list, then re-enable it.

But if excel was correct and there was something wrong (it got corrupted
somehow), you may have to restore from your backup. (If it enables ok, make
sure you have a current backup.)
