Default how to make bmp or jpgs graphics be treated as cell values

is there a way to put jpegs in a list and use vlookup function to put them
into cell. So far i am only able to paste them in the worksheet from the
clipboard

Afaik no. Cell values are either text or numbers.

You may want to try J.E. McGimpsey's routine:

You might be able to modify it to do what you want.
