Formula using Date Formatting
Hi there,
I have 3 cells - 1 with a start date, 1 with an end date and a 3rd for the difference between those 2 dates. How do I get Excel to come up with the correct figure which is the difference between say, 6 July 05 and 7 Aug 05? Gina. |

In the 1st cell (say A1) type 6jul05 and in the 2nd cell (say A2) type
7aug05, you will get to see the dates in both these cells. Now, go to the 3rd cell (say A3) and enter a formula as '=2nd cell - 1st cell', for example, =A2-A1 and then format the cell A3 to General formatting, using format cell. Thank You. -- vijard "Gina O''Brien" wrote: Hi there, I have 3 cells - 1 with a start date, 1 with an end date and a 3rd for the difference between those 2 dates.
