Default templates location in excel

How do I specify the location to which templates are automatically saved in
Excel ?
In MSWord it is easy but there doesn't appear to be a "File Locations" area
in Excel.
I know I struggled the last time I did this but just can't seem to work it
out this time.
Can anyone help please?

You can specify the Workgroup template location in MSWord. Excel will use that.

If you're looking for your own folder that contains your local templates...

Start up excel
hit alt-f11 to get to the VBE
hit ctrl-g to see the immediate window
type this and hit enter:
?application.TemplatesPath

For me (xl2003 and winXP), I get
C:\Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates\
