Default Excel sheet not loading

Dear Freinds,
I am going through a very strange problem. whenever i try to open an excel
file by double clicking on the file, it will open the excel application but
will not load the file. it will just show me a excel menus and toolbars with
BLANK CONTENT WINDOWS.
On the other hand if i first open the excel application and from there if i
open a file it opens without any problem.
Any TIP on such behaviour??????

Regards
