Default How do I stop automatic insertion of rows in Excel?

Suddenly, on a stock point and figure chart, I am getting rows inserted as I
add a string of o's going downward on a chart. It only seems to happen when I
get to a level below which there are no o's enterred yet as I work right to
left on the chart.
