Default adding two colmuns together

I do the audit at a hotel and I was wondering if there was any way to take my
todays column and add it automatically to the month to sate column without
having to do it manually. It only involves two columns but I am stumped.

Angela,

To do it automatically you may need to use some VBA code, however there
are a few alternatives. I am assuming that you have done the obvious
and inserted a forumula into a 3rd column that adds the 2 columns
together.

An alternative way would be to use the *paste values add* function as
follows:

1. select the cells with the current months data in it and *editcopy*
the data

2. select the top cell of the column with the year to date data in it
and then *editpaste special*

you will now see a new menu. From the top section of this menu select
*values* and then from the bottom part select *add*, then hit ok.

What this will do is copy the data in the 1st column and add the value
of it to the 2nd column.

Its not a completely automatic process but takes a few moments to do.

I hope this helps, please let me know if this isn't the solution you
are after.

Best regards

Assuming that your todays column is Col A and the month to Sate column is
in column B.

Enter the following in the first cell in Col C =A1+B1. The either copy the
formula down as far as you need or position in C1 and got to the intersection
of C1 and C2 and the cursor will change to a small +. Drag this down as far
as required and this will also copy the formula down.
