Excel 2003 pivot table has less functionnalities than in Excel 97 : no
possibility to insert a calculation ? And toolbar keep poping up...

You can insert a calculated field: from the Pivot Toolbar select Pivot
Table, Formulas and then Calculated Field. If you mean the field list, you
can chose the button hide fild list from the Pivot Toolbar.
