Default Searching the first name only

Hi there....
Im having a column of names.....and i usually use "Find / Replace"....
but then i would like to find out if there's other method which i can
use.....because E.g. when i wanted to search the 1st name containing
"Kelly"...it would search everything name which contain "kelly" in it.....i
only want the first name........
i tried the match case, or using *kelly* in the Find/Replace...but it
still doesnt work......

Hi Kelly,

To find cells only containing Kelly, select the 'Find entire cells only'
option.

Hi Kelly,

To find cells only containing Kelly, select the 'Find entire cells only'
option.

Should have read:

To find cells only containing Kelly, select the 'Find entire cells only'
option in the Find or Replace dialogs.

Hi Kelly,

Do you mean by tick" Match Entire Cells Content"??

Yes. The exact wording differs depending upon the version of Excel being
used.

if yes.....it cannot search the data by the name "kelly" when i tick
it.....

Are you sure that the cells ONLY contain *Kelly* and not * Kelly" (space
Kelly) or *Kelly * (Kelly space)?

Have you unchecked the Match Case option?

In any event, If I enter some instances of *Kelly* and some of *Kelly Lim*,
searching with the Match Entire Cells Content (or its equivalent) selected,
only cells containing *Kelly* were found - as expected.

Hi Kelly,

Are you saying that you want to find any cells where *Kelly* is the first or
only word?

If so, use the search criterion:

Kelly*

and select the Match Entire cell option.

Forgive me for not understanding you sooner!
