When I print from Excel (other Office applications are fine), I get the
message that an error has occurred in the program. The details say Excel caused a general protection fault in module HPPCL5F4.DLL at 0002:000006c2. Something with the driver, I assume. I'm working on a windows 98 machine with Excel 2002 (terribly slow combination), printing to a shared HP 4500N LaserJet over a network at work. When I print to my personal HP DeskJet 710c (connected to LPT1), it does fine. Just the network printer has this problem. So what's up? Thanks for your suggestions. |

Have you visited HP's site to get a fresh copy of the driver?
If you've already tried this and xl still crashes, lots of HP printers will emulate other printers (Series II from the olden days??). Maybe installing a new, er, older driver would help.
